Schumacher's Wet-Track Crash Ends Monaco Race Early

The Monaco Grand Prix was halted during the opening lap after a first-lap crash involving Sergio Perez of Mexico and Oracle Red Bull Racing. The crash occurred on the wet surface at the Swimming Pool complex, with Perez losing control of his car and spearing into the barriers. The incident brought out the red flag, halting the race for over an hour.

The crash is estimated to have caused over $1 million in damages, making it the most expensive crash in the history of the Monaco Grand Prix. Perez was uninjured in the incident, but his car was heavily damaged. The race was eventually restarted, with Charles Leclerc of Ferrari taking the victory.

Mick Schumacher's second Monaco Grand Prix also ended early, with the German driver crashing out on Lap 27. Schumacher lost control of his car at the Mirabeau corner, hitting the barriers and causing significant damage to his car. Schumacher was uninjured in the incident, but his retirement marked the end of his race.
